Baguio City Philippines

Baguio City is the coolest summer capital of the Philippines. It is the most favorite destination for both local and foreign tourist especially during summer when the weather from other places in the Philippines is so hot. That is why local tourist books early for their summer trip to Baguio. Most hotels in Baguio are already full at summer time.

The cool and refreshing weather of Baguio is what makes it very popular with the tourist. Those people who are used to cold weather or anyone who just want to escape the tropical heat of summer would just love to stay in Baguio. The city is situated north of Manila and is about 149 miles far. The temperature ranges from 59 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit (15 to 26 degrees Celsius) but expect it to drop to as low as 46 degrees Fahrenheit during the rainy season that is from June to September.

Aside from its weather Baguio has always been described as the green city because of the numerous Pine trees spread over the places and you can still smell the refreshing aroma of pine trees in the air. Indeed it is a great diversion from the polluted air of metropolitan cities. Its leisurely mood type of lifestyle suits every tourist desire to have a relaxed and fun vacation away from all the stressful things at work and home.

Baguio is also known as the educational capital of the Northern Philippines because of its numerous universities in the area. One well known University which has been established since 1911 is the Saint Louis University which has been popular for offering the best quality education and high standards. Students from all over the Philippines attend to this University.

Among other well known Universities are University of the Philippines, Philippine Military Academy, University of Baguio, Baguio Central University, University of the Cordilleras and Pines city Colleges. There are still other learning institutions in Baguio that offers other area of study. That is why major part of the economy comes from education and tourism.

Millions of tourists from both local and foreign visit the place and they are not disappointed either for they have lots to see and do in Baguio. Finding a place to stay is easy but be advised that it is hard for you to find a place to stay during summer so make sure to plan your trip early and book it early if you plan to spend your summer vacation here.

What is there to see in Baguio City?

Getting around the city is not hard at all since public transportation is easy to get and it is inexpensive too so getting on to Baguio’s most visited places are not hard at all. Most of its well known tourist spots are situated in the eastern and southern sides of the city like the Burham Park, The Baguio Cathedral, Session Road, Camp John Hay, The Mansion, Mines View Park and the Botanical Garden. These are just a few of the most well visited tourist spots in Baguio.

Restaurants and Eating Places in Baguio City

Food is not a problem either for they offer a wide variety of International Cuisine in their different restaurants like Muang Thai Restaurant which offers Thai food cuisine. Other restaurant offers Italian food, Korean, Chinese, Mongolian and many more. Shopping is even better in Baguio when you visit Session Road where most of the shopping malls are located. Indeed Baguio is the place to be when you want to relax and commune with nature. It is a good diversion from your busy life at home.
